How to measure rubber tracks by width, pitch, and number of links

Use this guide to record the three measurements shown: Width, Pitch, and Links.

Width
Measure the rubber track's overall width.
Pitch
Measure the distance between track links, or the total distance divided by four.
Links
Count the links around the complete track.

Rubber Track Operation

These tips will help you get the best possible life out of your PTS industrial rubber tracks and avoid costly down-time!

  • Avoid curbs, large rocks, angle iron or any other sharp objects during operations. If unable to avoid these objects, slow down before crossing the object.
  • Always keep the undercarriage free of debris, dirt and mud to insure that it will operate correctly.
  • Avoid operating in salt or oils, as these will deteriorate the rubber tracks.
  • Avoid static turning.
  • Avoid steep side grades.
  • Avoid hitting the rubber tracks with the machine bucket.
